Online Therapy

Imagine doing therapy from the comfort of your own home. You don’t have to rush from where you are to the therapy office and back. You have the choice of dressing up or dressing down – no judgement here. At first, I noticed myself having a bit of resistance to the idea of doing therapy online. I was afraid of missing the “human” connection. As I have progressed more into therapy online, I find that the human connection is still there. The people I work with find comfort in their home environment, and feel less resistant so they can go deeper into their emotions.

Online therapy also allows for more access for folks that live in rural places. It opens the availability for parents who can not find childcare or those who don’t have time between work and life expectations. For those who are afraid of the stigma of being seen walking into a counseling office, it gives a chance for them to feel less afraid to reach out for help. Having access to online therapy provides a chance to slow down and ground yourself in the midst of the chaos of life.

During the COVID-19 quarantine, online therapy is the only way that I am providing therapy. These are unique times that create a lot of uncertainty. Many of us want to be able to talk this through to decrease anxiety.  I understand the tendency to pull back and financially conserve during times of uncertainty. If you need somewhere to talk but cost holds you back, please reach out.
